a 24 minute DVD, suitable for use on TV, computer or portable
DVD players. It was also formatted for use with virtual reality
glasses which, though not essential, further maximize the impact
of the program.
The program opens with live video footage of ocean and beach scenery, coupled with a narrative, which leads the patient away from his/her physical environment---away from hospital noise, dialysis machines and chemo administration, or simply the mental chatter of an overactive or fearful mind---then gently shifts into the simulated reality of an animated representation of immune system function. This animated section demonstrates the work of the body's healthy cells that are constantly in operation to combat disease. Suggestions for healing are embedded throughout the program. At the close of the program, a menu offers options for viewing selected segments of the program, minus the narrative, on a continuous loop.
